The Cetica Loop

Cetica is a village in our commune high on the steep sides rising up the Pratomagno- an outlier of the Appenines that forms the western flank of the Casentino. Famous for its forest activities (timber and firewood production and earlier charcoal), resistance to the Fascist/Nazi regime and its indigenous red potatoes it has a very particular feel. Not quite Alpine but hardy resilient and independent although most houses I suspect are now summer houses of people with family links to the village.
