Dis-mantled
Much as I should have liked to keep the greenery decorating the mantlepiece, it was looking decidedly tired, so was taken down today.
Although the fire was not lit, with the only heat in the room from the radiator, it has been interesting to note the different degrees of decay between the evergreen plants: first, the most dry, was the dwarf Ilex Golden King, then Taxus baccata repandens, Hedera Goldheart, Chamaecyparis obtusa, Cryptomeria Japonica elegans and last of all, almost perfect, Pinus ?mugo pumilio (my notes were incomplete on that one.
They are all now in the brown bin, where the original offcuts remain fresh and green!
