Surprise Visit to Apple
I had to visit the Apple Store today. Unplanned of course.
After almost one year still no solution just going round-and-around in circles.
SONY asked me to visit Apple as they can't fix iPhoto which my SONY Xperia S has managed to crash twice. At the Sony service centre a new super-duper Sony Xperia ION was connected to my Mac. And you'll never believe this, then the Mac became stunningly slow to use AGAIN.
Then I had to make a surprise visit to The Apple Store, ifc, where Andy from the Apple Support Team fixed it, even though my Mac is out of warranty they spent over an hour fixing it all free of charge!
As planned, today, I turned up at Sony Xperia Service Centre regardless of the fact Service Centre Manager, Allan Chan, failed to reply to three emails and two phone calls to confirm the meeting. See below from 21st February:
"We fully understand your concerns and would like to extend our deepest apologies for the inconvenience that you have been experienced . Should you have appointment service for the above offers, please feel free to contact our Service Centre Manager, Mr. Allan Chan at 2781 2981 or email to us for arrangement."
And when I arrived hone today. From:
Xperia? CARE
Thank you for your email reply regarding your Xperia? S dated 25 February 2013. Your feedback and comments are valuable to us. Please kindly accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Sony Mobile is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sony Corporation. Please understand that we, Sony Xperia? support, are working with our own policy to provide warranty service for Sony Xperia? smartphone only. Subject to the conditions of our limited warranty, we can only either repair or replace your Xperia? S during the warranty period. We regret to reject your refund and we cannot exchange to Sony camera product instead of Xperia? smartphone in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated herein.
When you visit to our Service Centre today, our Service Centre Supervisor, examined your Xperia? S and your Macbook again. He noticed that iPhoto application of your Macbook show errors which is the reason that makes very slow detection and data transfer. He tried to simulate your issue with our Macbook but cannot re-produce the same symptoms as mentioned. Since our bridge for Mac software must link up with iPhoto for media transfer, we suggested you should fix iPhoto issue by contacting Apple support for further assistance. We fully understand your concerns and would like to extend our deepest apologies for the inconvenience that you have been experienced. We consider to extend the following offer for you before fixing your iPhoto issue:
l Free upgrade to Xperia? ion (LT28h) including 8GB memory card with 3months
warranty from the date of pick up. This offer will be valid until 25 March 2013.
Should you have appointment service later, please feel free to contact our Service Centre Supervisor, or email to us for arrangement.
