A question of scale
A hugely important day today, not just for the US, but for the world.
But on a smaller scale
After the false alarm on Monday, they are here!!
All the important broadband people arrived in the village - the green was full of vans and trucks. The last details have been finalised and work will start 'very soon'. (This was taken through a wet windscreen as we arrived back in the village from our once a week trip out - to shop at M&S! I was not going to go out in the rain to take another one, but Gordon ventured out later to check on what exactly was happening and he spoke to the guy in charge.)
(This saga is going to get very boring to outsiders, but it has to be recorded.)
The fact that I had to give up watching the ceremony from America on the computer and resort to the TV is significant.
Our broadband is rubbish - but soon it will be wonderful.
Let's just hope that a similar sentiment can be used for the ceremony that has just taken place over the water.
Now I'm having great problems trying to post this blip . . . sigh!! I will try again later. Ready at 5pm not uploaded until 9.40pm.
