How come . . .

. . . this is still alive. I do not like house plants, although it is more that I quite like them but they don't like me and I consider them to be too much responsibility. So it was a surprise that during the Christmas period I bought one of these. 

It is also a huge surprise that it is still alive. Never before has one lasted this long. Why are the leaves not curling up and falling off, why are the flowers not shrivelling up?

Now I see on the photo that a couple of the leaves are beginning to turn and are on their way out. That's good then.  

Don't look where we were on this day last year!!
