Tarn Hows

My oh my oh my, what a day!
After an amazing meal of pâté and steak last night in the posher than I expected hotel restaurant I slept well and woke to glorious sunshine. I breakfasted on scrambled egg and smoked salmon and then drove to Hawkshead where I parked up, donned my boots and set off for a 6 mile circular walk past Tarn Hows. I followed the lakeside path along one side passing tree stumps with coins embedded in them before heading into the moorland. There were fantastic views of the snow capped Coniston Old Man and the Langdales. Simply stunning! One more night before I head home so back down to the restaurant shortly for another gastronomic delight. :-))
