Our wonderful rural postal system in action.

In Red Kite news, I have managed to spot where they are building their nest (blurry picture in extra).  It's somewhere different but close by each year.  It's still about 30m from my kitchen but slightly deeper into the cover of the trees.  They nested high up last year with little canopy over the nest.  Apart from the rain, it made the eggs and chicks vulnerable to the magpies that nest nearby.  The red kites had to be on guard all the time.  I hope they have chosen a better protected site this year, although it will be even more difficult for me to photograph them once the leaves are on the trees.
