Okay, this isn't the best photograph you have ever seen of a kingfisher, and it is heavily cropped, but I saw this little chap today, and I just want to put him on record.

A passing photographer, someone I have never met in my life, took his 500 mm lens off his camera and lent it to me! How generous was that? I struggled with the lens - it was far too heavy but, nevertheless, it was good to have a go with it. There wasn't a lot of light around so the ISO is high.
