Grebe

I took a short walk around the lake at Yarrow Country Park today. This place is about 25 miles from my house but it feels like home and I really don't mind the 50 mile round trip. Tuesday's kingfisher was taken by the river in this park.

Ispot users say that this grebe is a great crested grebe in non-breeding plumage. This is a little strange because there is a pair already in breeding colours on the lake. I suspect this is a young grebe - last year's chick maybe.
