Snow much fun
I spent much of this morning staring out of the window, mesmerised by the falling snow. It's so calming and beautiful, isn't it? Snow is one of those things that, thankfully, doesn't get less exciting with age.
I managed to convince Grace that instead of a snowy walk, we should go sledging. It didn't take much convincing. Grace borrowed Becky's sledge which has been hanging in my shed since the last decent snow three years ago. Poor Becky couldn't come and play because she's got covid. Sad times.
We walked to some nearby fields and had the most wonderful time. It was so nice to see so many kids out enjoying themselves after a long winter indoors. One of the best things about the whole experience was the maskless faces showing pure joy and laughter. A missed experience.
I've forgotten how brutal sledging is though, especially for me who seems to tip out on every slope. I've got a thumb that can barely move and I'm convinced that I'll wake up to the sight of a few bruises in the morning. Totally worth it.
