2016-06-12 (Day 164) Power Cut!

We had a power cut. Not only us, but only four houses at the head of our cul-de-sac.

It turned out that an underground power cable had been damaged in previous works, and had eventually failed. So we had a little digger, we had a generator, and various people all over the place fixing the problem.

To be fair to all involved, the folk we spoke to were all very helpful, and from start to end the work was done in under twelve hours - with us getting generator power for a good couple of hours in that time.

Without power, it is claimed that Western socities are just three days from riots. I can confirm there were no riots in the street last night!
