Picus viridis

Better known as the European green woodpecker.
Today was a rainy day, with either sleet or rain, and only occasionally a dry shower. Not the best weather to go outside and take a bright, sunny picture.
This woodpecker visited our garden and I did my best to a) not scare her away and b) still take a picture. I had to stay inside for (a) and I had to try to (b) take a sharp picture through a double-layer window pane. Oh, yes, behind the bird was a clear white cloud.
This is the best I could manage. Nature in our garden, I love it.
