Oh!
How times have changed! The intention is appreciated BUT......!
Spent all afternoon inside, waiting for the plumber and when he came, as he didn't know the workings of the house, there was a search for various taps to turn off before he could repair the loo, a ladder to be found etc, etc: oh, why were N and T not around when they are needed! A great improvement but he will have to come back. He was tellling me over a cup of tea, how his parents were in south London during the war. They used to shelter in the underground tube stations when there was a bombing raid. One day on their return from a raid their tenement block where they lived had completely vanished, just a hole in the ground and all they had was what they stood up in. Luckily they had enough just enough money to take a train through the suburbs to a sister. She found them work on a farm and that is how they started all over again.
T is sorting out the cattle for market again tomorrow. He is upset as his favourite tame steer is going but that is what farming is all about, if people want to eat beef we can supply it. Unfortunately we have no room for keeping them as pets much as we would like to. It is always upsetting seeing the cattle loaded into the lorry.
