:: Lunar Halo ::
Technically taken last night but it was such an amazing sight I had to share :)
A full wolf moon surrounded by an orange glow. The glow is caused by refraction and reflection of light from ice crystals. It was extremely cold last night and today has been the coldest in two years. It was -15c/5f when we got up this morning.
The name wolf moon was given by the Native Americans who would notice the wolves howling at this time of year. No wolves around here but we do hear coyotes howling to one another occasionally!
I have not altered the image.
