Anniversary

This evening after we’d completed our America’s Cup volunteer shift, we cycled to the Maritime Museum where my other half had an evening volunteer shift on the Ted Ashby replica scow.  We left the berth just on 8pm and motored out into the Waitemata Harbour before the sails were hoisted.  We then sailed up to and under the Auckland Harbour Bridge, which had a special light show in recognition of Auckland’s Anniversary Day (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auckland_Anniversary_Day). It was magical being out on the harbour with all the lights twinkling. And Sky Tower (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Tower_(Auckland)) was lit up in red in honour of Prada, which is the Challenger of Record for the America’s Cup.  As we cycled home there was a full moon reflected in the dark waters of the harbour.  Wonderful!
