Breda - Maria Chapel, Ginnekenstraat

This used to be St. Joost's Capelle, or St. Joost's Chapel. It was built between 1430 and 1440, originally without the bell tower, which was added in 1667. After renovations between 1945 and 1947, it became the Maria Chapel.

As for the Ginnekenstraat, it's one of the busiest shopping streets in Breda, except when it's raining because there are no cafe's here so no place to hang out in. If you continue on southwards with the Ginnekenstraat, you end up in ... Ginneken! That's a wee village which used to be a separate municipality but which has become part of 'Greater' Breda, although the area is still called Ginneken. More on Ginneken when the weather improves.

By the way, I notice it's BLIP No. 2802229 ... exactly 2000 blip entries after yesterday's! Does give me an idea of the number of seriously active blippers here ... awesome! And no wonder I can never see them all!
