As the snow started to come down

Edited only because it published when I didn't want it to yet. Never sure with my pathetic typing skills exactly what I did.
We have two white throated sparrows that are regulars to the feeder. The cardinals and smaller birds will hang out in the rhododendron or my little cherry tree before they fly over to the feeder. It's kind of a staging point , and when the coopers or sharp shinned hawks show up also a great hiding place.
The cardinals showed up in force - or as my son put it  "look the cardinal's whole extended family came for dinner". 30 cardinals. I have never seen that many at one time before.
The extra was slightly earlier in the day at the feeders. One goldfinch and one Carolina wren. A two for one shot I couldn't resist.
The other extra is one of the 4 deer in the yard this afternoon . Sadly one of the two   adults females seems to have a broken leg. It is bent but she is limping on it and it doesn't seem to be wobbling, so I think it is not new. I hope she continues to do ok but crossing the road will be her hardest task.
