This and another sunflower plant were badly damaged in the Boxing Day hail storm.   Both lost their developing buds and leaves were left in a tatty condition. However, nature worked its survival magic with laterals producing even more buds - and now colour as these buds burst open in the summer sun.

It feels like summer has returned today with the breeze again warm and balmy. Sunshine and blue skies continue to prevail.
