Tale of a wood mouse

I have been  hand feeding a Robin for a number of weeks with a piece of biscuit, and I've got into the habit of leaving a leftover piece on a greenhouse shelf and recently noticed it has been disappearing overnight. To try and prevent the theft I placed a piece under a pot lid and weighted it down with a small stone - this did not work so I set up my trail camera and was amazed by the series of pics. First the mouse carries out a reconnaissance, poses for the camera, levers up the lid, takes the biscuit and carries off the whole piece in triumph rather than eat it there. The extra shows the various elements of the attack! Will have to plan a different strategy.

A bit long winded but something to occupy the lockdown time!
