morning at the zoo

I'd forgotten how nice it is to start the day at the zoo. In the colder months I usually wait until afternoon when it is warmer, but today's early start was wonderful.
Featured is a 5 month old Siamang, named Rahsia which in the Malay language means "secret." Her mom was on birth control so nobody knew she was pregnant until a zoo visitor noticed she was giving birth! Talk about keeping a secret...
In extras are two photos with snow in the background. The first shows that even African giraffes like to eat snow! And the second is an Amur tiger who naturally delights in the cold of Siberia.
