Second day soup always tastes good.

Made lentil soup yesterday. All good soups need a good stock; ham hough stock base for the lentil soup, sometimes it’s ribs. It snowed off and on yesterday as I chopped and stirred. We enjoyed a couple of ladle fulls each from the red container today - a welcome bowl at lunch after a dreich walk. Sleety and raw, not a pleasant outing.

First Minister spoke in Parliament on the latest periodic review of Coronavirus Restrictions. Essentially no change to Lockdown this month except for schools; early intimation (subject to monitoring etc) of return of Primary 1-3 and parts of Secondary senior phase (for essential practical work) from 22 February. Also information on testing of staff and senior phase pupils. There was mention of the notification period for when we’ll hear of our vaccination date; a way off - lots of variables and challenges (eg supply/uptake/pace) between now and then - but encouraging.

Family are well. The school situation was of relevance to them when we spoke this evening.
