Harmony

Today, while tidying up in the garden, where  it was quite  mild, and  before it rained again, I discovered this pot of Iris reticulata "Harmony"  just coming  into bloom. How, despite all the recent  rain, snow and wind,  do the flowers emerge, and remain, looking so clean and perfect?
