River Dee

Today's the day …………………….. for muddy waters

This is the view of the River Dee, looking upstream from the Old Tongland Bridge.

We've had non-stop rain for so long now that the river is full to the brim - and has gone a very muddy colour with all the silt that it's bringing down from the higher ground.  The Dee would normally only occupy the right hand side of the gorge as you look at it from here.  The water-logged bit on the left is usually above water level, with just the occasional rocky pool.

It's all looking very out of sorts - but it seems that there's lots more rain still to come …………………...
