Wild geese are among those birds which could be suspected of spreading avian flu among our native birds and they are a threat to poultry so causing all chickens to be shut inside since mid December. Some geese were swimming in a flooded field with many grazing very close to a nearby farm where normally hundreds of hens roam the fields.
Autumn Flight is painted by a self taught native Canadian called Benjamin Chee Chee.  He was very keen on painting animals and birds, especially geese with the minimum of lines and colours giving the birds and animal a sense of movement. Unfortunately after a troubled personal life he tragically committed suicide when he was 32 just as his art was becoming much sought after.
