February at the Library

I walked with friend Laura today from the library parking lot through through some of the residential parts of town. It was cold and sunny, and the combination of blue sky and white snow very enticing. The snow didn't stay crusty - in fact it softened and melted quite a bit - but at the end of the work day, back home, W wanted to try sledding. He'd left the saucer sleds by the front door. It took some effort, but we scooped out a path down the slope to the side of our house. One always has to stop before the tree line and the wire fence (I learned this our first winter here, at a greater velocity). The kids did not deign to join us like they used to, but that's ok. I'd hoped it would freeze over tonight and give us an icier path in the morning, but we're due for rain in the wee hours and warm temps tomorrow.

Was very pleased to find two appointments for Mom and Dave to get their first vaccine shots next week! Their appointments had been for April. Dave is home and doing pretty well. Mom is tired. :-(

I thought this library display was cute.
