One Street as it is
This is our street in Kerala. As it is. Mr A is in the distance turning round on his bike no doubt frustrated that I am stopping again to take a photo! The couple in front pushing the cart are some of the poorest people here who are paid to collect plastic bottles and by the end of the day that cart will at least three times their height in bottles. Some have this sort of cart on the back of a bike. And if the wind is blowing against them it must be so tough to make any distance at all.. The good news is that the bottles are now being collected which they were not until 2 years ago.
And to the left are builders who move rock in the most intense heat. There is always some building going on somewhere. At the moment they all seem to be making very neat piles of large gravel well small rocks.. I can only imagine that they intend to widen the road or make some parking areas as at the weekend most cars and coaches get stuck in the sand to the side of the road.
And the Arabian Sea is just out of view to the left behind that huge wall that I have featured in many of my blips.
We were cycling back having had breakfast in one of the resorts where we run our programmes. They know we are leaving soon and they prepared a feast for us today.. It is miracle we could cycle back at all.
I am thinking what to show you in the last few days we are here.. Something special for you and for us.
Thank you for accompanying me on this special time in India - the country we love.
