Talaat Harb Square, Downtown, Cairo
Back blip
Came straight from work, picking up Bb on the way, to The Greek Club on Talaat Harb Square. A friend at school had recommended it as one of the last few places which are unchanged since its glory days as a centre of European ex-pat living last century. It is very characterful, and it must be completely unchanged! We ate in the dining room and I borrowed Bb's camera for this shot from the balcony as my iPhone just wasn't up to it! We enjoyed Greek Salad and then escalope with blue cheese and mushroom sauce and pommes frites chosen from a menu which is probably still the same too! We toasted the memory of Chaislongue's parents who would have surely come here on visits to Cairo from Alexandria during their time in Egypt. Bb says that Chaiselongue was in her 'mummy's tummy' just before she left Egypt, so maybe she 'dined' here too!
