Buzzard (Buteo buteo)

We were up at the stables today.  After the ride, L was grooming Meg and I took a walk around the paddocks on the lookout for a Blip.  I was quite chuffed to spot this buzzard, resting on one of the fence posts.  As ever I was expecting it to take off well before I could get a half decent image but on this occasion it stayed around long enough to get this close.  

It wasn't the only bird I managed to get closer to then normal.  The extra is a pied wagtail that also allowed me to get closer than normal.

In the afternoon it was sitting down to watch the rugby.  Well done to Scotland, who were simply magnificent in their performance over England.  Thoroughly deserved.
