Road on ice

Thank you for your nice comment for icy art yesterday! I think that maybe I should still stay to the subject ice...

It is very easy, as all the roads by us were almost too icy to walk today, much easier to drive, so I decided to visit countryside. The idea was just to drive around and maybe have a short and slow walk in clean and warm (+4,5c) air with the kids. Take some photos. It was raining today too, which was a nice surprise, as the water surely melts snow and ice too...

On a shore of the lake Nasijarvi we found an ice road in a small harbour. Somebody has been often driving to some island apparently only short time ago, as the tyre marks were so fresh. I did not dare to test how the ice road would carry our car, but if I would have, we could have drove from here straight back to Tampere's Mustalahti harbour!

Nasijarvi is quite a long lake, some 44km and on it's southern shore there is Tampere city. The photo is taken to Tampere-direction, as you may (or may not) see... In average the Nasijarvi has 14m dephth, but it's deepest point is 63m. The photo is taken on the shore of Nasijarvi's largest part, Nasinselka. There is about 30km journey to Tampere from this point.

After the country walk we drove to Tampere - traditionally along the slow country road. At the centre of the city there is this "Watami sushi" and there we had delicious sushi and also some hot courses, tempura etc, in japanese style.

The holiday has finally started, I hope. The strong country air has made me tired, so I'll leave you to the Summer moments of the Nasijarvi -lake's Lapinniemi-harbour and have a short nap.

Hope you enjoy both the virtual and non virtual scenes ;)
