Borderline Personality Disorder is defined as an individual who shows a generalised pattern of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image and observable emotions and significant impulsiveness. Originally thought to be at the "borderline" of psychosis, people with BPD suffer from a disorder of emotion regulation.
