The life & times of Jacks

Little Fairy Houses

This morning started much earlier than anticipated when poor Phoebe was sick in her bed - at 5.45am.

Cue much running around, getting her bedding into the washing machine, grabbing a coffee and tea and then all sludging back to bed.  On the upside - no hangover.

Phoebs was slow moving in the morning and dozed in bed with us for a few hours - I guess being sick took it out of her.

We had a fun morning opening presents and I may have enjoyed some cake for breakfast.  We then took Puppa out for a walk in Leavesdon and we came across these totally cute wee fairy doors in some of the trees.

We think Phoebe *may* be coming into season - one dog (who thankfully has had his big boy opp) tried to mount her - she wasn't too chuffed.  The dog's owner was shocked (due to him having been seen to) but we think it is because the first phase of the season the girl gives off a scent even when she isn't up for it.  She's been more velcro than ever (didn't think it possible) so soon we will be on lead walks only until we can get her spayed.

Rest of the day has just been lovely.  I've had so many bottles of gin - one lovely bottle from my parents from my home town and another from my team at work and a third from our neighbours.  So. Much. Gin but that's not a bad thing :)

Steve is cooking me up a nice steak dinner and we are off work tomorrow so a nice slow-ish day although I do plan to get some uni work done.

My sister bought me a 6 minute diary which is all about positive psychology which I expect will be good.  Had a nice bath while sipping gin reading the intro/ how to of it all.

While lockdown and the pandemic sucks so much, I have to say that I have had an absolutely lovely birthday - it's been really nice, relaxed and I feel thoroughly spoiled.
