Homely

Torrential rain overnight eventually turned to snow around 9.00am and continued to a greater or lesser extent for the rest of the day and into the evening.

So far the accumulations have been less that we were led to believe. Temperatures were around zero so it took quite a while for everything to white over. The snow is very fine, easily drifting in the brisk northerly wind.

We walked across the golf course on virgin snow which crunched and squeaked underfoot which was a lovely experience. While out we came across this lovely little detail on a fallen oak that that has appeared in my blips before. Very homely.

Doreen’s carers rang to say they wouldn’t be able to come out this evening owing to the weather. So it’s up to us to fill in. Normally, she’d come down to us for Sunday dinner. Not today! Susan went up after our walk to cook Doreen’s dinner. We’re just off now for the evening shift. We’re wondering what the state of play will be in the morning or will we be on duty?
