Powerless

I had a blip ready to post - snowdrops - but the major power cut just after 9 tonight provided a different opportunity.

We had just settled in to tonight’s episode of The Great when everything went dark. Well, the solar battery and the electricity smart meter still glowed but did not register anything. All street lights out. No WiFi. No phone signal. Whole neighbourhood in darkness apart from mobile phone lights as people looked for torches and candles.

We gathered our battery operated candles into the kitchen to begin with and got the various torches together. I was just about to light the wax candles when everything came back on. Huzzah!

The outage seems to have been widespread covering much of Edinburgh and to the south. For us the power was off about 25 minutes so not bad.

Now settling down to the Superbowl in the hope that I can remember the rules!
