Mon Petit Chou

Well, I didn't know that this little rockery plant belongs to the cabbage family.

I spotted this Aubretia on a neighbour's stone wall where today's gentle sun had persuaded a couple of its tiny flowers to open.

Wikipedia tells me it's named after Claude Aubriet, a French flora and fauna painter. How cool would that be - to have a flower named after you?

And the French title? 'My little cabbage'.
