8 Inches

EIGHT inches of snow in my back garden and whilst the furnace within the house is melting the icicles on the roof, the chill of -2 outside is making sure the snow is not shifting.

Today was my first trip out for a week, the snow was light, powdery, crisp and glistened in the bright light.

The week has seen our girl return home. I miss her but it's right that she wants her own space. I've virtually attended 2 funerals, neither Covid related, each difficult. Many around us have been given notice of vaccines.

We had a powercut which reminded me of the powercuts of my youth when we had tea early and kept everything crossed that the power would come back in time for Dr Who.

Today a chat with our boy as he starts his research ahead of the Phd. He was microwaving a pizza and eating tubular corn based crisps from the bag using chopsticks! Aw, and wee Annie has had another fall. Let's hope she gets the right level of assessment and care.

Hopefully tomorrow brings the start of a thaw, my bulbs can't take much more of this, beautiful or not.
