 ........... very weird day, weatherwise.

Woke up to blue sky and very crispy (ie frozen) snow - mid-morning it went as dark as a dark thing and then we had a blizzard (today's blip).  Half an hour later it stopped and the sun came out and the blue sky reappeared and stayed the rest of the day.   According to my phone, the temperature never went above 0 centigrade.   There were a few random flakes of snow in the evening but nothing major.

Himself is having good days and not-so-good days - fingers crossed for more positives than negatives.  Thank you for all your concern.
