The Mitre

L3 Day 54 still chilly but a bit of sun so cycled over the river to Molesey for a change. The river is still very high, it is up over the lower garden area of the Mitre hotel as can be seen in the blip. There always seem to be lots of people out for walks around Hampton Court bridge and lots of cyclists at the weekends. Lots of cafes open for takeaways including the Molsey Boat Club and two places which have seen an opportunity and opened since the Covid lockdown the ‘Mitre Truk’ ( this is actually a yellow US school bus - See extra) and the ‘ Box’ on the other side of the bridge.
There has been some sort of pub on the site of the Mitre since 1665; it had a major refurbishment in 2019/20 and reopened last summer....for a short time! It’s new strap line is...”A NEW CHAPTER for an age- old story” Little did they know what the new chapter would be!
