Duddingston Kirk

The coldest night of the decade gave way to a blue sky crystal winter’s day. A day for walking once home schooling lessons were over. We so wished we could have taken our grandchildren sledging with us today. We even thought about taking out our vintage sledge and have a wee shot - we had second thoughts!

We walked through the Figgate Park and up to Duddingston village crunching through the frozen snow. We enjoyed our first visit to Duddingston Kirkyard. Further proof of how much of interest we still have to see right on our doorstep. We came home along the Innocent Railway path which in contrast with all the pavements had been ploughed and salted so it was a smooth tarmac ribbon leading us home through the snowfields.
