The Mitchell Library
I thought I would try another night picture. I've always liked the Mitchell Library building and also enjoyed using the library at times since I've lived in Glasgow. It's one of Europe's largest libraries and contains a large public reference library, with 1,213,000 volumes.
The original North Street building opened in 1911. Its distinctive green dome surmounted a bronze statue by Thomas Clapperton, entitled Literature, is often referred to as Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom.
I'm on holiday tomorrow and going up to Oban so hope to get some good pics!
