Get Me Out Of Here
We have quite an accumulation of snow now varying between 20 to 30 centimetres. Pat has her appointment with the needle tomorrow and the Sainsbury’s delivery is due today.
I decide to clear the snow which proceeds OK. After clearing the snow off the car, and warming it up, I decide to take it out onto the clear public road.
A short run, to see how the side roads are. Not good. On my return and get stuck on the slight slope into "The Policies". After some digging and removing hard packed snow which had become ice the car was freed.
It was pretty obvious more excavations was required and that is today’s Blipfoto showing the excavation in progress.
It was also pretty obvious that Mr Sainsbury’s delivery man would become stuck as well. I continued to clear a route at the second entrance so he bring his trolley in.
He was scheduled to arrive by 4:15, however he had become stuck elsewhere. He eventually made it by 7:15. Full marks to him, he kept Pat fully informed of his progress.
By 7:15 it was dark. There are no street lights beside us. We eventually made contact and he parked on the opposite side of the road.
I had positioned crates at the entrance and told him to put the goods from his crates into ours. That way he could get on his way back to his base, and the road would be free again.
Poor guy. He looked very tired, although I think is a forty year difference in our ages.
A very busy day for both of us and I started to feel more vaccination side effects. A little whiskymac helped to dispel these.
Pat wrote a complimentary email to Sainsbury’s about their driver.
The extra shows Pat and I and morning sun.
