On ice

For some reason it hadn't occurred to me that the lake at Petersfield Heath would be frozen at the moment but, having seen Droopy Drawers' picture of the swans walking on ice yesterday, I felt the need to see it for myself. There's a couple of swans in Extras but I liked this gull who was just standing there looking a bit confused. We did several laps of the lake and part of the heath and got a coffee* at the Plump Duck to keep us warm. As described by DD yesterday, the swans were really not that happy about the ice and struggling to walk on it. They'll be pleased to know that it should be melting in a couple of days.
