Icy reservoir

We had a walk before Darren went to work this morning and the wind was making it bitingly cold. The wind was creating waves on the reservoir and those waves were breaking up a certain part of the reservoir, which was making it a bit easier for the ducks, despite that 3 quarters of the reservoir remained frozen. 
We had another walk this evening and this is when photo was taken. There was lots of broken ice at the reservoirs edge in this area of the photo. We did the full circuit of the reservoir and it was only when we got to other side that we realised how much of it was still frozen. Darren didn’t think it was as cold this evening though, a sign of things to come in the next few days.
I’ve now had my tea and have sneaked upstairs while Darren watches some sporty thing on the tv.
