Shepshed still Rocks!
Despite the freezing weather Basil and I ventured out this afternoon. We were both adequately clad against the cold. It was cloudy. The BBC has forecast light snow this evening.
I'd seen a post on Facebook this morning about vandalism at the Shepshed Nature Pond. I knew the pond lay down Butthole Lane but hadn't so far been successful in locating it. Just as we got to a promising turnoff, a young lad rode through the hedge on his bike and told us it was just on the other side.
It looked as if someone had already removed suggestive graffiti although a spray bottle lay on the ice. Someone had definitely been breaking up the ice and throwing fragments on the surface. Even so, the pond had frozen up again. It will be almost enclosed by housing estates once Persimmon finish by the Hathern Road.
En route, we found this beautifully painted stone. Nice to see that youngsters are still subscribing to Shepshed Rocks.
