Man In The Middle
I tried a host of crops before settling on my final image, struggling to identify why I wasn't happy with each. In the end I liked the contrast of sizes brought about by featuring the slender stem in the centre against its stockier brethren.
This arrangement also brought about more variety of sizes because those trunks out of view on the right are just more of the same.
I suppose I should have thought more about my composition when making the shot, but in my defence, I was perched precariously on a bank of snow, sinking with every change of position and facing into a vicious wind.
