Starkness

I like how the mass of the trunk enters the frame and takes the eye into this image, but I think it was the simplicity of how it looks against the stark white of the ice that initially appealed to me.

Normally, this scene is quite chaotic with branches and debris lying around making it difficult to find a composition. The fallen tree gives me the impression of a slain dragon, without signs of the slaying part, of course.

I used the Eterna film profile in Lr which is supposed to give it a cinematic look. I liked the effect it had on the ice.
