Up
Decided to head out straight away this morning to make the most of a bright morning. Went down to Portobello and parked at the west end of the beach and got a coffee and bacon roll then headed towards Leith since the tide was right out so I could explore a part of the beach I’ve not been on before....fabulous to do a big loop that way then back and all the way towards Musselburgh before I got to the rocks at the far end and back. Listened to Luckenbooth all the way...wondering how this will end up resolving the weaving together of so many stories.
I’ve never seen snow on a beach before (extra) but it was gorgeous....bitingly cold and windy at points but so sunny and clear and invigorating.
After a good 4 miles (hip painful at points but later A sent me some other great exercises I’m going to try to get some more strengthening done of the key muscles) I came home via the supermarket for food and the heavy supplies that I don’t need very often. Wish I was shopping for a sociable Sunday lunch with people but hey ho I’ll make it for myself.
Home for a hot cross bun and some tea then decided to relax for a while and explore the series Fortitude on Sky that K had recommended to me...sort of Scandi noir but in English and with a stellar cast. Watched a couple of episodes and think it’s going to be good....not much idea of what’s going on and clearly lots of complex back stories to explore!
So glad I got out early....very dull and grey the rest of the afternoon. Chatted to S, sorted out some emails to P’s bank to try and get him access to his account in Australia and did some laundry and cleaning then made a light supper and caught up on some modern art documentaries I’d recorded last year and never watched...really interesting. Ended up having a very early night...
