Dalton Entry...
Following yesterday's image of 'Boardman's Entry'; an alley off King Street, I thought I'd continue the theme today. 'Dalton Entry' is just a short distance away on John Dalton Street. The alley can be used as a shortcut to Albert Square. A chemist, meteorologist and physicist, John Dalton is best known for his pioneering work in the development of modern atomic theory and his research into colour blindness (sometimes referred to as Daltonism and a condition that he suffered from). Traditional scientific instruments are depicted here, worked nicely into the ironwork along the passage. Though Dalton died in Manchester on July 27th, 1844 his name lives on in this area.
