Green....

is visible today, first time for 54 days! The thaw continued with hot sun and wind, a beautiful day. The tracks were still totally iced and had to be avoided. Climbing up through the woods it was necessary to adopt a 'hirpling' gait, one foot on the icy track ,which slid back when the other foot stepped to the side, sinking ankle deep in snow as the first foot moved forward again. Made for a safe, if slow ascent!
At the viewpoint, looking east, as in this shot, Ben Rinnes is clearly seen. Looking west to the Cairngorms it appeared cloudy.
A great walking day!
