Ratcatcher
Did you know our attic is inhabited? Not by ghosts, by something else: let’s call it a squirrel. It had gone away awhile but it’s now been back for a couple of months. Not in the big attic, thankfully, but in the little roofspace above the extension. Said little roofspace has no access - well, unless you’re reasonably small, obviously, so no pest control people are interested. I had a roofer check all around outside. Nada. A mystery. Nothing else for it then but to cut through the sarking boards and install a little inspection hatch. Then shine in a torch. And tape an iPhone to an extending pole to video all around. The critter is being elusive. Plan B it is.
What else? Oh, I ferried MrT first thing as I’d swapped shifts. A longer visit this time as he’d to go and see the dietician as he’s been losing weight, partly due to being off his food which no longer tastes good. Poor Steve.
Later, we’d a boatie quiz - we were after third place as we’d already got first prize (burgee), second prize (baseball cap)…. and third was a club beanie. Bah, but didn’t we come second. No beanie for me.
And finally the lads meet up to talk rubbish. The Prof, sorry, the older Prof (yes, that's the sort of company I keep), has recently retired and has taken up photography. Got a camera and doing a course and everything. Luckily then I was on hand to give him some tips. Yes, yes, things not to do.
