Eagle
Late Edit: I put this up before I saw ALL the wonderful comments for the purple crocus! Wow. Thank you all so much. I'm very appreciative of all the positive feedback.
Today Bill took me to the Refuge but before we did that, we went to the Department of Fish and Wildlife office and got our "official" senior lifetime pass to the National Parks and Wildlife Refuges. Cool! So, with our new pass, we did the auto route. We did see a heron and he had a snake in his mouth, but the photos weren't very impressive. Boo. Then we saw an immature eagle but he was just a tad far away and those pictures were kind of awful. Boo. But there were several cars parked there and people with their Big Daddy lenses having fun with the young eagle. I saw something different, two pied bill grebes, but Sefferdog has already put up a gorgeous photo of one, so that was out for the blip. Finally, a mature eagle provided the best photo of the day. Yay.
The weather was warmish, mostly overcast with a bit of sun peaking through late in the afternoon. Not too bad for March 1. It's also my birthday but we are doing family stuff tomorrow. If you want to check out Baby Susie please do. Too bad Dad didn't have a nice Canon/Nikon then. I did get a card from Bill and a nice day, talking to relatives on the phone and on the computer. Bill suggested he and I go out for dinner tonight. Okay by me! Oh, and he got a job! HA He thought he should do something productive, so for fun he applied at a greenhouse/nursery which is up the road from us about 4 minutes away. They called him and said he could start March 8. It's seasonal and minimum wage, but what the heck. He likes gardening and he is excited to learn about greenhouse work. Go figure.
Have a good one, folks. See ya later.
